The Cat, the Collector, and the Killer Book Review

The Cat, the Collector, and the Killer book cover
I was thrilled when The Cat, the Collector, and the Killer: Cats in Trouble Mystery by Leann Sweeney arrived in the mail for review.  This is my favorite cat cozy mystery series, and I was really looking forward to reading the latest book in the Cats in Trouble Mystery series.

Jillian Hart is enjoying married life with her new husband, acting police chief, Tom Stewart, when a woman is found wandering the streets in her night clothes, disoriented and confused, and carrying a kitten in her tote bag.  The woman, Minnie Shultz, is a cat lover who has adopted several cats from the Mercy Animal Shelter.  However, when her house is searched, Jillian stumbles upon many (additional) cats, stacks of boxes, and a dead man (Chester Winston).

Minnie is admitted to the hospital and assigned a psychiatrist, Dr. Ross.  Shortly after beginning to care for Minnie, Dr. Ross has a car accident.  Jillian believes that Chester's murder and Dr. Ross' "accident" are connected somehow.

While Minnie is a suspect in Chester's murder, Jillian simply cannot believe that this sweet woman is involved.

As I mentioned before, I really love the Cats in Trouble Mystery series, and this book did not disappoint!

I absolutely love how Jillian's cats are a major part of each book.  I also fell in love with little Otto, the kitten Minnie was carrying around in her tote bag, and Simon, one of the cats Minnie had adopted from Mercy Animal Shelter.

Minnie really touched my heart (and Jillian's).  The way Minnie's ultimate diagnosis brought her and her family together really touched me personally, too.

The part that dirty kitty litter played in this story had me laughing out loud (you'll have to read to the end to enjoy that part)!

If you love cats and/or cozy mysteries, I think you'll really enjoy this book.

FTC Disclosure: I received a copy of, "The Cat, the Collector, and the Killer: Cats in Trouble Mystery," by Leann Sweeney for a fair and honest review.  Receiving the book did not influence my opinions.  All opinions expressed on Fur Everywhere are my own.
