Happy Gotcha Day, Giovanni!

Giovanni

Today is Giovanni's FIRST GOTCHA DAY! Can you all believe it? I sure can't!

When I met Giovanni, he was a tiny 10-week-old kitten and weighed just 2.4 pounds. I could pick him up with one hand.

Before Carmine left for the Rainbow Bridge, I swore up and down that I wasn't going to get a kitten. Adult kitties have much more trouble finding loving forever homes. I'd get an adult, that's what I was going to do.

And then.....I went on PetFinder and searched for orange kitties in my area and ran across the most adorable kittens. I couldn't resist. It wasn't going to hurt to go and meet the kittens, right?

Happy Gotcha Day, Tylan!

It's hard to believe, but today is Tylan's 4th Gotcha Day!

Me and Tylan

I had Tylan's foster mom take this photo of us the day we met. Tylan was so small back then, not even 9 pounds (he's nearly 12 pounds now!).

Today is also the day we celebrate Tylan's birthday. The truth is, we actually have no idea when Tylan was born - we can't even pinpoint a year because his teeth were so horrible when he was rescued, they were no help in aging him. Our best guess is that he may be 7 years old this year.

Tylan

Tylan has certainly enriched our lives. He is the epitome of perseverance - showing all of us that you can overcome very challenging circumstances and still come out on top.

Tylan is a very special guy. Despite his rough start in life, he is a very sweet mancat and loves everyone. And he is most certainly loved back!

Happy Gotcha Day, Tylan! We love you!

Love,

The Mom Lady and Carmine

Happy 1st Gotcha Day, Tylan!

Hi everyone! Tylan's first Gotcha Day was technically yesterday (October 8th), but we are celebrating it today and hope he doesn't mind we are a day late.

I cannot believe it's been a year since Tylan came home to live with us. He came home nearly one month after Lita went to the Rainbow Bridge. My heart was still shattered from her death. Having a new kitty family member was wonderful, but it was also an adjustment for everyone.

I'm honestly surprised that Tylan is still with us given all his tremendous health challenges. His health is still quite precarious - I just don't talk about it much because I don't feel like it's very fair to drag you all on this roller coaster ride I'm on with him.
