TICA Cat Show

A few weeks ago, I attended a TICA cat show with a couple of friends.  I love seeing all the cats and learning more about the breeds.  So many of the breeders and owners were so nice and allowed me to pet their cats since I can't really see them that well.

Here's a Sphynx in one of the judging rings.  There were a fair number of Sphynx cats at this show, but we didn't run across any outside the judging ring to pet.  It was *much* quieter at this cat show than the one we attended at the Denver County Fair over the summer, so you could actually hear the judges talk and announce the winners!

This lady had a couple of Egyptian Maus.  She let me pet this one, and he felt *just like Jewel*!  It made me miss her, but it also made me smile to remember how soft she was.

The other Egyptian Mau she had escaped from his Sturdi and ran under the table a couple of times!  Everyone was yelling, "Cat out!" when he escaped.  They caught him pretty quickly, though.  He escaped a second time later that day before we left, but they caught him right away that time.  Silly kitty!

My wonderful friend, S, LOVES white cats!  Every time I see a white cat or anything with a white cat on it, I think of her.  She loved this kitty!  Isn't he cute?

This black kitty insisted on crawling in my lap, but I didn't mind!  He was a sweet kitty.  I can't remember what breed he is, though.

The show was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to go to another (in January!).

(Not Quite) Wordless Wednesday

Carmine lays in my wheelchair with his paws folded under him.
Hi everyone, it's mes again, Carmine!  The Mom said mes could post again today.  What a lucky mancat mes is!

Yesterday, mes ate almost all my breaky.  It took some convincing for mes to eat my dinner last night, but mes finally ate some of it.  Later on, mes had a little snack, too.  Lita sure is happy the Mom is feeding mes extra snacks because sometimes hers gets to have one, too!  Mes is hanging out in my pink cube right nows.  The Mom says hers will feed me some breaky soon.

In this photo, mes is hanging out in the Mom's wheelchair.  It doesn't come out very often - only when the Mom goes somewhere hers knows hers will have to stand or walk a lot (which hurts hers).  The Mom went to a cat show on Sunday and took hers wheelchair with hers so hers could enjoy the show without as much pain.  Mes thinks the chair is pretty comfy!

The Mom will tell you all about the cat show next week and show yous some photos hers took, but hers wants to give a quick update about mes today, so mes will turn it over to the Mom now.  Thank you all so much for purring and praying for mes.  Mes is lucky to has so many pawesome friends who care about mes!

The Mom here: I called Dr. Stabby yesterday to check in with her and to see how she wanted to proceed with Carmine's treatment this week (we see her next Tuesday).  She told me to lower Carmine's Prednisolone dose to 2.5mg again for three days.  However, we also decided to start the Budesonide at the same time.  Hopefully starting the new medication while titrating him off the Prednisolone will help him not feel so bad.  Carmine received his first dose of Budesonide last night.  I will keep you all posted on his progress.

Thank you for purring and praying for my sweet Carmine.  We really appreciate it!!

Mancat Monday

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

On Saturday, the Mom left mes and Lita for hours and do you know what hers did?  Hers cheated on us with a bunch of kitties!  Not the kitties from the cat shelter who need love because theys has no homes.  No.  These kitties have homes, and hers went and loved on thems anyways.  Hers went to a TICA cat show.

The Mom apologizes for the blurriness in the photos.  Hers says hers did not want to use the flash because hers didn't want to disturb the kitties or the judges.

The Mom's friend D came with hers to the cat show.  He took hers to a judging ring first where theys were judging a bunch of Bengal cats.  Hers said there were 13 Bengals at this cat show!  The Mom has only ever seen one Bengal in hers life, and hers says they is really beautiful (but not more beautiful than mes!).

This light-colored Bengal had a lot to say!   The Mom says it was hard to get any photo of him because he wouldn't sit still!  Hers said hers went to visit him in between judging rings, and hims was so energetic hims was on hims hind legs in hims enclosure, scratching at it.  Hers said hims really wanted to play.

The Mom said this kitty was cute, but hers can't remember what kind it was.  Hers visited a lot of kitties between their judging rings.  Most of them sat in their enclosures by themselves, but a couple of the owners who were around let the Mom pet their kitties.  The Mom said hers got to pet a Devon Rex kitten and a Ragdoll cat.  Hers said both of them were softer than Lita!!!  Mes hopes hers doesn't tell Lita that because it might hurt hers feelings.  The Mom is always saying Lita has the softest furs hers has ever felt.

The Mom got to see a Somali kitten and an adult Egyptian Mau and her kitten.  The Mom really wishes the Egyptian Mau lady would have gotten one of the kitties out because hers couldn't see them well in the enclosures, but the lady didn't offer, and the Mom didn't feel right asking.  Hers said the Egyptian Maus reminded hers of Jewel.

The Mom saw a Scottish Fold, too.  There were also a lot of Sphynx cats there, but the Mom never ran across any.

There were also a couple of Toygers there.  One of the Toyger's humans said that Toygers are very friendly and laid back.  The lady opened the enclosure so the Mom could see hims better, and hims just laid there contently.

The Mom finally came home after many hours of cheating on us with all these kitties and had a long nap!  Mes missed hers a lot, so mes visited hers a lot and insisted hers pet mes while hers slept.

Lita will go to Dr. Stabby again tomorrow to see if hers upper respiratory infection has gone away yet.  Mes hopes you all has a wonderful week!
