We has an announcement to share with everyone.
We is moving to a new home by the end of July. Mom is very overwhelmed and stressed right now just thinking about all the packing and sorting and stuffs. But hers says it will be the best thing for all of us in the long-run because this place is a subsidized apartment building and hers won't have to spend every penny she gets on bills. This also means that her will finally have the time to put more into her blogs instead of tracking down writing work for pay all the time.
That is the good news.
Jewel is having a very bad day today. She vomited three times today (that I know of) - there might be more and I just haven't been lucky enough to step in it yet.
Jewel was eating well for a couple of days, but she's slowing down again.
She is going back to the vet on Tuesday so Mom can learn how to give her the subcutaneous fluids with an IV line. Mom figured out how to get the bag close enough to her eye while it's hanging to do this. Both mom and the vet seem to think it will be more comfortable for Jewel to do it that way.
We are just glad it's not us going. Jewel will be very angry at the mom for taking her back there so soon after the last time.
Mom told us that they are going to give Jewel an appetite pill while she is there, too, but nobody tell Jewel that, okay? Jewel gets very upset if anyone tries to get her to has a pill.
We will do our best to visit all of our friends as much as possible during the move. We loves you all!
Best of luck to you all re: the move, we hope all goes smoothly
ReplyDeleteContinued purrs and purrayers to you all too, especially for Jewel, for her Highest Good.
We know moving can be stressful, so we send you purrs that all goes well. And we continue to purr for Jewel and hope she feels better.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the move goes smoothly for humans and cats. We will double our purrs for Jewel as it could make her even more stressed.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We hope the move goes smoothly. Moving is so stressful on humans and cats alike!
ReplyDeleteWhen you get an appetite pill for Jewel, be sure to ask what kind of side effects you might see. Years ago, when the vet gave Cyrano cyproheptadine as an appetite stimulant, the side effects were really scary (howling and restlessness). It was one of the longest nights of my life, and it would have helped if I had realized that was a possible side effect of the medicine and not a sign of a crashing CRF cat.
We're purring for Jewel and you too.
good luck with the move....and with the vet - we will be sending purrs!
ReplyDeleteI am sending lots of purrs to Jewel - and to your human too. Moving and having to deal with Jewel's CRF is beyond stressful.
ReplyDeleteMoves can be stressful for all involved. Hope yours works out OK.
ReplyDeletePurrrrrrrss for Jewel. She must have some fight left in her if she is mad about another trip to the V*T.
Even if it is a good thing, moving is very stressful and especially so if you are sick or disabled! I hope everything goes smoothly and Austin sends mega purrs for Jewel! xx
ReplyDeleteThe new place sounds like it could be a good deal! I hope the moving goes super-smooth! Also hope all goes well with pretty Jewel.
ReplyDeleteHope your move goes well. Tell mom not too worry about visiting or posting - we'll be here when you get back.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the move goes well. We're purring for Jewel
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Good luck on your move and your visit to the vet Jewel!
ReplyDeleteHope the move goes well, and that's good that there will be more money for the household (and maybe for occasional treats?).
ReplyDeleteUncle Skylar had to have an IV at home for a few years. Our purrents put a nail halfway up the window frame and hung the bag from that. Then, when they sat next to it in a chair with Skylar on their laps, it was the right height to see and to drain down the line.
you are dealing with so much right now, our hearts go out to you.
ReplyDeleteThe move sounds like it is the best thing for all, (my advice, bring Jewel there to see the place BEFORE you move, if you are able to do so)...I did that with my first cat and it enables them to be able to leave their scent at the new place so when they move in, it smells familiar.
Praying that all goes well at the vet with Jewel too!
We are happy for your move, really. Mom says we live in that kind of housing, and it really helps. I say, well it IS small, but it is a happy place, and they take care of us better than any other landlord has (so I hear from Mom).
ReplyDeletePurrs and purrs for sweet Jewel!
QUINN
Sending purrs for Jewel and for your move to go smoothly.
ReplyDeleteWe are excited that you found the new place to live, but sorry that Jewel can't go with you. THANK YOU, dear friends, for loving her so much, and for having her best interests in your hearts. We will continue to purr and pray for you all, and all that you are dealing with!
ReplyDeleteMoving can be so stressful, especially for us kitties 'cause we don't like change, but it should like it will be better in the long run. Good luck with it. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeletepurrs to you both. Your stress of moving could be weighing on Jewel, and hopefully once that is over things will be easier on the both of you.
