A Tribute to the Rainbow Bridge Cats of 2016

In lieu of individual tributes, I do a year-end tribute to all of the cats we know who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge.  I believe that every cat deserves to be remembered an honored.

If you have any additions or corrections, please let me know.

We are sorry for your loss.  Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a precious fur baby this year.
Purrs and love,
Carmine, Milita, Angel Jewel, and Mom Sierra

ThRainboBridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  1. That's a lovely tribute post to so many lost in 2016. We lost our cat Cameron in 2015 and our dog Sam in 2016, so they aren't on here, but we know this caring post will mean a lot to the families of the kitties at the bridge.

  20. This list is very humbling. We lost a lot of great pets in 2016. I hope that 2017 will be easier on our hearts. Thank you so much for adding my Cinco to this tribute. I miss him terribly. One day we will meet again.

  22. I just saw Missy Blue Eyes and now I'm crying again and missing KC and ML - I really want to get ahold of them. ML did so much for me, welcoming into the Cat blogosphere and holding my hand to help me start selling items on eBay - she helped me soo much when no one was there to lift me up. She did. I am a cat blogger now because of ML.
