Remembering Carmine on His Angelversary

Carmine

Today marks Carmine's angelversary.

I cannot believe it's been two years since you left for the Rainbow Bridge.

I miss you more than words can express. I know that you are around, watching over me and Giovanni, even though I haven't been able to see or feel you lately. I know you were there to help Tylan cross the Rainbow Bridge a mere two weeks ago. I hope you two are taking good care of each other over there.

I know that we will be together again someday, and I look forward to that with all of my heart. The soul connection we have and the love we share is no match for the veil; love never, ever dies.

I love you, Moo, forever and always.

Tylan: Forever Loved

Me and Tylan
The day Tylan and I first met at his foster mom's house.

I'm heartbroken. My beautiful Siamese man, Tylan, has left for the Rainbow Bridge.

What Happened

As many of you are aware, Tylan had a difficult life from the very beginning. Initially, he lived on the streets of Bangkok, Thailand with other members of his Siamese colony. A well-intentioned woman they call Granny rescued him and his colony from the streets of Thailand, but she was unable to properly care for the 30-40 cats in her tiny one-room apartment. Granny kept Tylan and the other kitties in individual hard plastic cat carriers stacked from floor to ceiling.

Fortunately, Demi from Demi's Animal Rescue was in Thailand filming a documentary when she met Tylan. She noticed how bad his mouth was; he couldn't even meow at the time, and she funded dental surgery for him and a few of his Siamese friends in Thailand.

After the surgery, he went back to Granny's, but when he developed an infection, Demi realized that this wouldn't be an environment where Tylan and his friends could reasonably heal, so she put a plan into motion to bring him and three of his Siamese friends back to the United States.

The foster family in Thailand fell in love with one of the kitties during their quarantine (required to travel to the United States), so three Siamese ended up flying halfway around the world to find their loving forever homes.

Tylan
Tylan loved hanging out in this small tree throughout the years.

Fast forward several months.... Lita passed away on September 12, 2018; I was heartbroken and searching for a new kitty companion for Carmine who was always quite the social butterfly. Tylan's photo caught my eye right away; what a gorgeous cat, I thought! When I read his bio, I felt like he would fit into our home perfectly, so my dear friend, Karen, took me and Carmine to meet Tylan in his foster home.

Even before we met, though, I knew Tylan was supposed to be here. Don't ask me how. I just knew he was meant to be in our family. And that's exactly what happened. Tylan and Carmine did pretty well the first time they met, and I just loved the curious and handsome Siamese I met. It was a done deal. We just had to wait for Tylan to finish some antibiotics for a URI before he was cleared to go home with us.

Tylan had found his loving forever home, but his challenges were far from over. Many of you may recall that shortly after I adopted Tylan, our vet told me that he had severe refractory stomatitis. He had already had most of his teeth extracted (he only had his two bottom canines left). A near-full mouth extraction is successful in treating about 80% of stomatitis cases, but it didn't work for Tylan. To make a long story short, the cat community pulled together and raised the funds needed for Tylan to undergo stem cell therapy. It was quite the endeavor, but it was his last and only hope for a quality life. After fat removal surgery and four stem cell treatments, Tylan's stomatitis improved significantly! After several months, we were able to successfully manage his stomatitis with a dose of daily prednisolone - something that hadn't been possible before stem cell therapy.

Me and Tylan
I visited Tylan every day while he was hospitalized in January.

At the mere age of six years old, in 2021, Tylan was diagnosed with both hyperthyroidism and chronic kidney disease. He was the youngest cat our vet had ever seen with hyperthyroidism.

Over the next four years, he also had several bouts of acute pancreatitis. The inflammation in his body was just terrible, and he had just about every inflammatory condition you can think of, from asthma to chronic pancreatitis to osteoarthritis and everything in between.

We actually managed his chronic kidney disease pretty well for three years. Tylan was in mid-late stage two CKD during that time. However, this past January, Tylan had something the vets term "acute on chronic kidney disease." He was hospitalized for five days in mid-late January, and I wasn't sure he'd make it through that. I went to visit him daily and prayed constantly that he'd be okay and able to come home again.

Thankfully, several days of IV fluids helped lower his creatinine to the point where he could safely come home again. To say I was nervous when he came back home is an understatement, but as the weeks passed and his creatinine stayed stable, I relaxed a little. At this point, he was firmly in end-stage kidney disease. His creatinine and BUN were pretty high, but he had plenty of good days where he ate sufficiently, enjoyed sunbathing in his tree basket, was social, and even played with his favorite toys.

Tylan
Tylan loves to hang out in the basket on his tree by the window. He spent hours sunbathing here nearly every afternoon.

That began to change in April. I noticed Tylan began to vocalize more often the way he did right before he was hospitalized in January. He also slowed down on his eating significantly. I noticed he didn't seem very comfortable. He became more clingy the way he did when he didn't feel well.

So I had his vet check his labs again in early May. His labs came back pretty bad. His creatinine was nearly as high as it was when he was hospitalized. Our vet encouraged hospitalization again, but I just knew Tylan didn't want that.

To make sure, though, I had my dear friend, Linda, the most amazing animal communicator I know, talk with him. I was hearing him correctly. Tylan said he absolutely did not want to be hospitalized again. He said he didn't want any more vet visits, period. He let us know that he was ready to go and that he was only hanging on for me. This was so incredibly sweet and selfless of him, but it wasn't right that he was here merely for me. I had to do what was best for him, the most loving and hardest thing. It was time to let him go. He had endured more challenges than any precious kitty should ever have to face in 10 lifetimes, let alone one.

Linda let me know that Tylan wanted a few more days with me but that he thought he might only have about a week left here with us. So I scheduled an in-home euthanasia; he indicated he wanted me to help him transition over to the Rainbow Bridge.

Tylan
Tylan spent a lot of time in his own Squishmallow bed (covered with a fleece blanket), so he could be near me as I worked on the computer.

An Inspirational Cat

Despite all the challenges Tylan faced during his lifetime, he was truly one of the happiest and sweetest cats I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I was dumbstruck by how incredibly friendly, sweet, and happy he was from the first day I brought him home. I simply couldn't believe that someone who had been through so much in his three short years of life could possibly be that happy and that friendly! Where was the bitterness? Where was the total distrust of people? He'd been forced to live in a hard plastic cat carrier without enough food or proper healthcare. Why on earth would he trust anybody, I wondered?

Tylan loved everything about his new home right away. He loved Carmine. He loved the abundance of toys. And I think most of all, he loved that he always had as much food to eat as he wanted.

I'll be honest. Tylan and I didn't bond deeply right away, not the way Carmine and I had, not the way Lita and I had. It worried me. Don't get me wrong - I loved him from day one, but it just wasn't the deep bond I'd hoped for right away.

It didn't take long for Tylan to start weaseling his way deeper into my heart, though. How could he not? He was adorable, sweet, intelligent, and insisted that I give him attention when he wanted it, no matter what I was doing. And yes, true to the Siamese breed, he was quite bossy and opinionated, too! It's not surprise that we ended up forming a deep bond over the years.

Tylan
Tylan wasn't typically a lap cat, but he would grace my lap occasionally if I draped a fleece blanket over myself. This colorful cat blanket was his favorite (and it's mine, too).

Tylan loved to play, especially when he was young before his arthritis set in. He used to throw his blue octopus up in the air and jump up off the floor with all four feet to catch it mid-air. He also loved to chase wand toys. And it didn't take me long to discover that he loved crinkle balls; they were his favorite.

I swear that Tylan never met a stranger. He loved everyone. Shortly after I adopted him, I took him to our vet for a steroid shot for his stomatitis, and there was a little boy in the waiting room who wanted to pet Tylan. The boy was gentle, but he was still a kid, slinging his arms around animatedly while he told me about his cat. Tylan didn't even flinch! I think he would have made a great therapy cat (but he was disqualified from becoming one due to the fact that he was on lifelong steroids). Tylan made friends everywhere he went. He was the favorite feline patient at two different vet clinics, and even though everyone was happy to see him leave the hospital, they all told me they'd really miss him. Who wouldn't miss the cat who yells at you for attention and flops on his back, purring happily away while you rub his belly?!

A couple of our maintenance men even befriended Tylan and always said hi to him before they did me. Haha!! I thought that was awesome! They'd carry on entire conversations with him whenever they saw him.

Tylan didn't just befriend people, though, he also adored his cat friends! I know he really liked his friend, Mek, one of the other Siamese who came to the United States with him. Tylan immediately loved Carmine. He even wanted to curl up in Carmine's bed with him. Carmine was a good sport about it, but he usually let Tylan have the whole bed after a few minutes of cuddling.

When Carmine died in 2023, Tylan was as heartbroken as I was. It was heart-wrenching to see him that sad! When Giovanni came to live with us shortly after Carmine went to the Rainbow Bridge, Tylan was so happy! It didn't take but 24 hours for the two of them to become friends, and Giovanni used to curl up against Tylan in his bed when he was a kitten. Throughout their time together, I often found them hanging out near each other in the tree, on the floor, or on my bed. Giovanni brought me and Tylan so much joy when we were grieving, and I'm thankful I found a friend to help lift Tylan's spirits again. Giovanni continues to be a bright light in my life.

Tylan and Giovanni
Tylan and Giovanni enjoyed one another's company and often hung out together.

Tylan didn't express his love for me in the same way that Carmine and Lita had. Sure, he would hang out near me, but he never wanted to lay in my lap (unless he felt really terrible) and he rarely slept with me at night. I knew he loved me, but I didn't realize just how much until I left for two days last November to attend the BlogPaws conference. We had an awesome pet sitter who came twice a day to keep the boys company, feed them, scoop, give meds, etc. The minute I got home from the conference, Tylan insisted I pick him up (he was not a pick me up kind of guy) and clung to me for dear life. He purred happily and gave me headbonks for the longest time while I held him and told him how much I missed him.

I love that Tylan was possessive of me in the presence of others. If someone came to visit me, Tylan insisted I hold him the entire time the visitor was here. He wanted to make sure they knew I was his human.

Gratitude

I am so incredibly thankful to have had the privilege of being Tylan's human for six and a half years. Of course I wish it were longer than that. Of course I wish he could have lived to be an old mancat. That just wasn't his destiny, as sad as that is.

Tylan
Tylan loved belly rubs to his very last day. He demanded them often.

Tylan taught me so much in his short time in my life. He's taught me to be more patient and compassionate. He's taught me that maybe it really is okay to advocate for your needs and to express your opinions. He reminded me to try and be kind to everyone. He was the epitome of perseverance - he faced numerous challenges and handled them all with determination and grace. He reminded me to find a way through my challenges, always, no matter how inordinate they seem.

Tylan was such a loving mancat. He told Linda that he was hanging on for me because he sensed I wasn't ready for him to go. Even though he felt miserable, he loved me enough to keep going. It's the kind of love only animals are capable of showing us. It's such a wonderful gift, one that I'll carry with me in my heart forever.

I am thankful to those who have taken this journey with us - whether you've been here for the entire journey or just recently joined us. I am especially thankful for my best friend, Terry, from Brian's Home - Forever for always being there to listen to me, help me sort out confusing situations, and for loving me and my fuzzy babies. Thank you to Linda who has helped me talk to Tylan and discern his feelings, needs, and wishes. Thank you to my fellow animal communication classmates, May and Rebecca, for talking to my sweet boy, for praying for him, and for sending him reiki. Thank you, Ann of Zoolatry, for creating the beautiful badge for Tylan below. And to all who have checked in on me and Tylan, sent positive thoughts, prayed for us, left comments, given hugs, and more - I appreciate you all so much.

It may be time to bid farewell to you, sweet Tylan for now, but it's not good-bye forever. It's an, "I'll see you later. We'll be together again before we know it." I promise to work harder on my animal communication skills so we can talk while you are not physically here. Please be patient with me as I learn. I love you so much, my little meezie. Please say hi to Carmine, Lita, and Jewel for me, and please come back to visit and boss me around, okay?

Happy Birthday at the Bridge, Carmine

Carmine

Happy Heavenly Birthday at Rainbow Bridge, Tiny Lion! It's hard to believe, but you would have turned 20 today!

I sure hope Lita, Jewel, and all of your other friends are helping you celebrate today. I miss you so very much but know that you are still watching over us.

Carmine

Carmine loved boxes of all kinds - cardboard or soft and squishy. To celebrate  this day in Carmine's honor, please find your favorite box and curl up on or in it for a little while.

We love you, Tiny Lion!

Love,

Mom, Tylan, and Giovanni

Cole: Over the Rainbow Bridge

Cole at Cat Care

Some of you might remember this awesome mancat from my posts many years ago. I met Cole (formerly Coltrane) and Cash (formerly Crash) at Cat Care Society in 2013. I fell in love with the pair immediately! Cole looked a lot like Lita, and I understood and connected with Cash in a way most of the shelter staff didn't.

Cole endeared everyone to him. I don't know any shelter employee or volunteer who didn't love Cole as much as I did. He was such a sweet and gentle mancat.

I was spending a lot of time with Jewel in the vet clinic that used to be in the basement of Cat Care's building. After every visit, I'd have to wait for paratransit to show up and take us home, so I'd go up to the shelter and visit the adoptable cats. At least twice a month, I'd go upstairs, find Cole, and if he wasn't with Cash already, I'd pick him up and take him to wherever Cash was. I'd hug Cole and pet Cash and talk to them. Most of the time, Cole smelled nice, as he'd absorb the perfume everyone wore when they carried him around all day.

I wanted to take Cole and Cash home so much, but my situation simply didn't allow for it. I knew these best friends were a pair of incredibly special mancats.

Carmine left us a year ago today.

It feels like it's been 10 years to me.

A Letter of Gratitude to Carmine on His Gotcha Day

Carmine
Carmine loved being close to me and was rarely more than a few feet from me.

My Dear, Sweet, Adorable Tiny Lion,

You and I had a special bond. You were my heart cat, and I cannot imagine loving any other cat as much as I love you because our souls are so deeply connected. You brought such joy, wisdom, and love to my life.

On what would have been your 18th Gotcha Day, I reflect on all that you brought to my life during our time together.

Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter to my life. When you were a kitten, you were a ball of energy and a constant source of entertainment. You used to steal socks and rolls of toilet paper. I learned quickly that I had to keep the lid on the butter container or you'd be licking it up if I turned my back for two seconds. I also learned that I had to keep an eye on our game and puzzle pieces or you'd sneak off with them while Dave and I were distracted with our activity.

Carmine
As a kitten, Carmine loved stealing game and puzzle pieces. Here, he's supervising a game of Sorry.

You may have outgrown your stealing phase as you grew older, but you never ceased to bring a smile to my face. I smiled every time you bounced up to the top of the kitchen cabinets - something you loved to do even in your late teen years.

Carmine: Over the Rainbow Bridge

Carmine
Deb from Glogirly took this lovely photo of Carmine in 2017.

For those who are friends with us on Facebook, you know Carmine had a rough few years.

Carmine was diagnosed with kidney disease back in 2018 (I think). Shortly after that, he was diagnosed with steroid-induced diabetes. He bounced in and out of remission - we kept trying to see if he'd tolerate the Prednisolone after a break from it as he had advanced arthritis and moderate to severe allergies the Prednisolone really helped with. Unfortunately, each time we tried it, it sent him back into diabetes.

We eventually tried him on Budesonide as it doesn't tend to cause steroid-induced diabetes as often as Prednisolone does. Unfortunately, that put Carmine back into diabetes, and he never went into remission again after that.

I noticed 2-3 months ago that Carmine was loafing off his tummy. He did this exact thing when he developed chronic pancreatitis. I had initially dismissed a pancreatitis flare because he was already on anti-nausea medication, pain medication, and an appetite stimulant for other conditions.

We ended up taking him to see an Internal Medicine vet, and she thought that Carmine did, indeed, had pancreatitis again. Our regular vet and I worked to try tof ind something to make him more comfortable, but he couldn't take steroids. Nor could he take other medications due to his kidney disease. We were racking our brains trying to figure out some way to make him more comfortable and reduce his inflammation.

Cash: Over the Rainbow Bridge

Crash and Coltrane

Some of you might remember these two awesome mancats - Crash and Coltrane

Today, I am heartbroken to share the news that Cash has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

Anyone who is close to me knows how much I love and adore these two mancats. In fact, Angel Lita was afraid she was going to wind up with a couple of more brothers! Had I been able to afford to care for them, I would have seriously considered taking them home. But my circumstances at the time didn't allow for that. So I did what I thought was the nexct best thing. I visited Crash and Coltrane at the shelter often, and I promoted them here and on social media to try and help them find a good and loving home.

Crash (who was renamed Cash) had a tough time of it in the shelter. Most of the people there didn't understand him. I think Cash and I developed a bond because I could see his sweet soul. I knew without a doubt that when he found a good home, he'd be a little lovebug. He was rather cranky at the shelter - and who could blame him? Unfortunately, most people could not look beyond that, so Cash and Cole stayed at the shelter for quite a while. Cash and Cole were a bonded pair and had to be adopted together. You could often find them curled up together in a single bed.

Cash

Every time I visited the shelter (at least a couple of times a month), I would look for Cash and Coltrane (he was renamed Cole). I would usually find Cole first. If he wasn't already by Cash, I'd pick him up and we'd go find Cash together. I'd sit down, and Cole would sit on my lap, purring while I talked to him and Cash. Cash let me pet him, but I knew how stressed he was at the shelter, so if he didn't want to be pet that day, I would just sit by him and talk to him. I would tell him what a good kitty he was; I don't think he was hearing that enough at the shelter.

Sadie: Over the Rainbow Bridge

Logan and I have been friends for many, many years. He is an animal lover, just like the rest of us here. He has had kitties since the time I met him, and I have always felt he is a wonderful cat (and now dog) dad. All of the kitties who have claimed him are quite lucky to have found him.

Sadie.
Isn't Sade adorable? Whenever I see photos of her, I just want to pick her up and snuggle her in my arms.

One of his cats was Sadie. I had really hoped to meet her someday. I had heard so many wonderful things about her.

On Saturday morning, Logan told me it was time for Sadie to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She had a brain tumor and chronic renal failure. Logan did everything he could for her for as long as he could. Her body had finally had enough.

Logan had a co-worker back in high school who found two abandoned kittens in their barn. Tragically, a coyote ate Sadie's brother. When Logan heard this, he knew he had to save Sadie from the same fate, so he took her home.

Sadie loved everybody! She got along well with her feline and canine housemates. She loved to be cuddled. Logan says that Sadie was a calm and chill cat.

Sadie and her dad, Logan, in the grass.
I just love this photo of Sadie with her dad in the grass.

Sadie loved to eat! Logan says that if dinner was at 6, and it was 6:01 and you hadn't fed her yet, you'd get little reminder nibbles from her.

Sadie also loved to play with laser pointers. Up until a few months ago, she was more interested and interactive with laser pointers than anyone else in the house!

She was a beautiful and special kitty who will be missed by many. I'm sad I never had a chance to meet this wonderful kitty, but I'm really happy that Logan has shared stories of her with me over the many years we've been friends.

We love you, Sadie. Fly free, sweet girl.

Sadie.

Welcome Home, Lewis and Clark!

Frisco and Dillon (Lewis and Clark) in their foster home.
Frisco and Dillon (now Lewis and Clark) in their foster home.

No, no, no. As much as I would love to have more kitties, I've got my hands full with Carmine and Tylan! Rather, I had a small part in helping these two boys find a most wonderful forever home with two of the best, sweetest, and kindest humans I have the privilege of knowing!

Do you all remember Chase? He was my very sweet friends', Doug and Denise's old mancat. They gave him a most wonderful home full of love for many years.

Sadly, he developed a tumor around the same time Lita was sick with the pneumonia that nearly took her life in December, 2017.

Fortunately, Chase lived a while longer than Lita. But sadly, he ran off to the Rainbow Bridge in June. It broke his humans' hearts (and mine and probably many others', too). He was a very good, very special orange mancat, and we will all always love and remember him.

Dillon (now Clark) at his foster home.
Dillon (now Clark)

My friend Denise had wanted two kitties for a long, long time. Another one of my friends, Annmarie was fostering these two handsome orange guys. She'd been fostering them for six months. They are very shy mancats, so they were having a bit of trouble finding a home. They are also a bonded pair, so they really needed a home together.

So when Denise and Doug were ready to give another kitty a loving home, I showed the photo above to Denise. She showed it to her husband and well.........the rest is history! They went to meet the boys and fell in love with them.

Now they are HOME with Doug and Denise!!

The boys are incredibly shy and scared of people. In their first home (before they were rescued), their human locked them in the bathroom all the time. It's no wonder they don't trust people easily!

Frisco (now Lewis) at his foster home.
Frisco (now Lewis)

These two really lucked out. Doug and Denise are absolutely fantastic people, and I know they will love these boys and give them all the time and space they need while they learn to trust that they are excellent humans. Lewis (the long-haired mancat) has already ventured out a bit and was found sitting on the counter yesterday morning! :) Clark (the short-haired mancat) is still in hiding, but he does come out for food, water, and to use the litter.

They are in the most excellent hands, and I am sure they will be enjoying life soon.

I'm sure you all will hear about them from time to time, so I wanted to officially introduce them!

A Tribute to the Cats Who Went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2018

Every year, we do an annual memorial post for all the kitties we are aware of who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. We believe that every cat deserves to be honored and remembered.

This year has been especially tough because not only did we lose Lita, but we also lost so many dear and precious friends. We love and miss you all so much. You will never be forgotten.

We are so deeply sorry for everyone's losses this year and hope that your memories can bring you some peace as you grieve your precious fur babies.

Purrs and love,
Carmine, Tylan, and Mom Sierra

ThRainboBridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone, it's the Mom here, and we are participating in Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop today.

Today, I am thankful that Carmine seems to be doing okay after we lost our friend of 14 years, precious Lita.

Carmine typically grieves very hard. When Emma went to the Bridge, he went around the apartment, crying and looking for her. When Jewel went to the Rainbow Bridge, he was really sad for about six months.

But since Lita went to the Bridge, Carmine has continued to be social, eat decently, and seems to be in a pretty good moo overall.

Personally, I think Carmine knows Lita is in a better place now. He knew her much longer than either Emma or Jewel, so he saw her when she was young and health as well as when she got old and began to struggle with her health.

Milita Went to the Rainbow Bridge

Ingrid, Pipo, and Dalton made this beautiful card for us.

This morning, I was getting ready for bed (yes, I have an odd sleep schedule) and heard Lita messing around in a corner. I went to get her and noticed she was all wet. She had peed herself again. I cuddled her in my lap and got the distinct message that she was sad and miserable.

She had not eaten - we were syringe-feeding her. She was not drinking - we were syringing her water. Her brain was really messed up. We don't know why she improved for a few days and then crashed two days ago again. I guess that will always be a mystery. We had hoped against all hope that she would improve again.

As I was holding her this morning, I decided that I would give her a few more hours but that if she did not improve that I would help her to the Bridge. I just could not see her so sad and miserable. It was heartbreaking. I also got the distinct impression as I held her that it would be the last time I ever held her.

Mancat Monday: Remembering Cupcake

Cupcake, Forever Loved

Some of you might remember that our dear friend, Rachel, lost her kitty, Maxie, earlier this year.

Rachel also takes care of a feral colony.  She does a great job of taking care of them, and the ferals are lucky to have her.

One of her ferals went to the Rainbow Bridge last week.

Cupcake was an independent mancat who liked to wander around.  He loved his ginger kitty "brothers" (though not from the same litter), and he used to cuddle with them.  Cupcake also used to play and cuddle with Peri, another kitty in the feral colony.

We will all miss Cupcake.  I never met him, but I felt like I got to know him through Rachel's messages and letters to me.  He seemed like a special guy.

Run free, sweet Cupcake!

Maxie - Over the Rainbow Bridge

Today we have a special tribute post.  You all know my policy - I don't usually do memorial posts for individual cats.  The exception is when a friend's kitty goes to the Rainbow Bridge and doesn't have a blog or social media presence.  Every kitty deserves to be remembered.

All photos used with permission.

I've been penpals with Rachel for years now, and I consider her to be a very dear friend of mine.  She loves kitties as much as we all do, and she's an awesome cat mom!  It really saddened me when I heard that her cat, Maxie, was not doing well.  The vet thought she might have cancer or heart disease and feared she would only be with Rachel for a few more days.

Amazingly, Maxie made it for 32 days!  She really loved Rachel as much as Rachel loved her.  Theirs is a truly heartwarming story.

A Tribute to the Rainbow Bridge Cats of 2016

In lieu of individual tributes, I do a year-end tribute to all of the cats we know who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge.  I believe that every cat deserves to be remembered an honored.

If you have any additions or corrections, please let me know.

We are sorry for your loss.  Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a precious fur baby this year.

A Tribute to the Rainbow Bridge Cats of 2015

In lieu of individual tributes, I create an annual memorial post to remember all of our kitties friends who have run off to the Rainbow Bridge during that year.  It is my belief that every kitty deserves to be remembered and honored.  If you have any additions to the list, please let me know in the comments, and I will update the list.

To all those who have lost a beloved kitty this year, I am sincerely sorry for your loss.  I hope you can find peace and comfort in the memories you share with your beloved baby.  Please know that our hearts are with you.

Love,
Carmine, Milita, Angel Jewel, and Mom Sierra <3 p="">

SLIDE SHOW: I want to put together a slide show to remember the kitties who have run off to the Rainbow Bridge this year.  Some of you have already sent me photos to use (thank you!).  I wanted to give everyone a chance to send me their photos before I put it together, so if you'd like a photo of your kitty included, please email me at fureverywhere [at] gmail [dot] com.  Thanks!
