Thankful Thursday

Gabe and Giovanni

Hi everybody! It's me, Gabe, and we are joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop today because we has a lot to be thankful for this week.

We had an eventful week last week. Mama had to starve on Tuesday all day for an endoscopy on Wednesday where theys put in some kind of device called a Bravo sensor in her esophagus. It was supposed to measure Mama's tummy acid levels. The doctors already know hers has reflux, so Mama wasn't sure what more the test would tell them, but hers decided to have it in case it could give them some answers about why her tummy is always acting up. Hers had to get off all her tummy meds for a whole week and starve for 33 hours for the test....can you imagine?!

Anyway, Mama got up really early in the morning and went to have the sensor put in. Then Mama came back and had a nap. When hers woke up, Giovanni wouldn't leave hers side. He told me Mama was in a lot of pain and hers needed us to take care of her.

The next thing me knew, Mama was yowling like a dying animal every time hers put a bite of noms in her mouth. It was awful! Hers yowled and yowled. Then hers ran off again! Hers told us hers was going somewhere called the Emergency Room.

Hers waited there for six hours in pain, and the doctor decided not to take that "evil monstrosity" (sensor) out of hers. They told hers to go home and call the GI lab in de morning so they could remove it. It not be normal to have that much pain in de chest from de sensor, they said. Mama could not eat because it hurt so much to swallow.

So, off hers went again the next morning! Then hers came back home and had another nap! Finally, hers was able to eat without screaming again. Hers was so happy and so was Giovanni!

Mama said it is uncommon to have that bad of a reaction to the sensor, but it does happen to a few peoples. In any case, hers is so happy that thing is out of her, and we is so happy hers is feeding us at the regularly scheduled meal and snack times again!!! Mes and Giovanni were all confused those two days cause hers kept leaving for hours at a time and feeding us at strange times.

Mama says it's experiences like this that make you thankful for the little things, like being able to eat.

What does you be thankful for today?

Thankful Thursday
