#ChewyInfluencer: Victor Canned Cat Food Review

This month, we saw that Chewy.com was offering Victor canned cat food as one of the review choices for Chewy Influencers, so we decided to try Victor Shredded Chicken Dinner in Gravy Canned Cat Food.

To be honest, I'd never heard of this brand, so I was looking forward to seeing what Carmine and Lita thought about it.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone, it's Lita today.

First, I want to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday on Sunday either here or on Facebook.  It was a good day. 

A week ago, the fire alarm went off here in our building.  The fire alarm hardly ever goes off here (unlike in our old building where it went off at least once a month), so the Mom and D scooped me and the orange one up and put us in our carriers and headed out.  

The Mom lost her concentration going down the stairs and ended up falling down a few of them.  She landed on the floor hard.  She is hoping she just sprained her left foot - it is the same foot she had to have surgery on to sew up ligaments and a tendon in 2010.  She also hurt her right knee.  

She was carrying the orange one when she fell, but he is okay.  D grabbed the orange one, and the Mom hobbled out of the building.  She said if nobody were there, she would have pushed the orange one's carrier and crawled out, MOL.  

Happy 15th Birthday, Lita!

Today is an incredibly special day.  It is Milita's 15th Birthday!  

We don't normally have a formal birthday celebration here, but this year, we did.  We had a couple of friends over that Lita knows very well, and we celebrated her special day.  This was her cake.

We are all beyond thrilled that Lita is here to celebrate her 15th birthday, and we are hoping for many more great years for her.

Mancat Monday: Remembering Cupcake

Some of you might remember that our dear friend, Rachel, lost her kitty, Maxie, earlier this year.  

Rachel also takes care of a feral colony.  She does a great job of taking care of them, and the ferals are lucky to have her.  

One of her ferals went to the Rainbow Bridge last week.  

Cupcake was an independent mancat who liked to wander around.  He loved his ginger kitty "brothers" (though not from the same litter), and he used to cuddle with them.  Cupcake also used to play and cuddle with Peri, another kitty in the feral colony.  

We will all miss Cupcake.  I never met him, but I felt like I got to know him through Rachel's messages and letters to me.  He seemed like a special guy.

Lita's Vet Visit - An Update

Hi everyone, it's the Mom today with an update on Lita.

As some of you know, Lita made her way to the vet yesterday.  Thank you to all who left purrs and prayers for her on Facebook - we appreciate the support very much!

I decided to take Lia to the vet because she has not been herself for a couple of weeks.  She is spending a lot of time under the dresser, and she is not as enthusiastic about food as she usually is.  She's usually the first one in the kitchen when I open a can, but there have been times lately where she doesn't even bother moving from where she is when she hears a can open.

Given her serious respiratory issues, I thought it best not to guess about what's bothering her and take her to see Dr. S instead.  

She weighed in at 12.68 pounds.  Dr. S and I agree that while Lita is a little overweight, we would both be happy if she stays at this weight for the rest of her life.  I'm glad we're on the same page about this.  

He gave her a thorough exam.  He said her eyes look great, and her kidneys and thyroid feel just fine.  He said there is some bacteria on her teeth, but he thinks the water additive he's created may help with that (we have some here already because he thought it would help Carmine, too).
