Happy Birthday, Gabriel and Mom Sierra

 Hi everybody, it's me, Gabriel. Guess what today be?! 

Today be MY FIRST BIRTHDAY!!

Technically this means me is not a kitten anymore, but Mama says me will always be her baby cat.

Me had a good year this year. Me found a loving home with Mama and my big brother, Giovanni! 

Mama thought it might be fun for me to share some of the things hers has learned about me during my first year of life.

Me loves to be around Mama's neck! Me jumps up on her back and dig my claws in and climb up to her neck. Then me wraps myself around her neck and watches the world from up there. Me does this at least once a day but usually several times a day. Mama likes to call me her "orange scarf." Hers loves it when me wraps my warm, fuzzy body around her neck. Hers says me is so warm and soft. 

Happy Third Birthday, Giovanni!

 Today is a very special day here. It's Giovanni's third birthday!

To be honest, Giovanni had a rough year.

Just three days before his second birthday, he had to have one of his toes on his back foot amputated because he had a mast cell tumor on it. His mast cell tumor ended up being cancerous. He recovered well (though he tore his bandage off about 40 times during the two and a half weeks he had to wear it!) and adapted well to his missing toe. 

Last May, we lost Tylan. When I brought Giovanni home as a 10-week-old kitten, Tylan welcomed him with open paws. Tylan was so happy to have another kitty friend after we lost our sweet Carmine. Tylan immediately accepted and loved Giovanni from the first minute he entered our lives. And it only took Giovanni 24 hours to return Tylan's love. 

When Giovanni was a kitten, he would curl up right by his new big brother in his heated bed. They were good pals. 

Last June, I brought Gabriel home. Giovanni initially struggled with this. He found Gabriel's kitten energy to be too much. How quickly Giovanni forgot that he was that energetic not too long ago...

Giovanni and Gabriel get along pretty well these days. Gabriel has calmed down a little (but still has lots of energy!). I find the boys curled up together for naps more days than not. They happily sleep together for hours at a time. Giovanni even lets Gabriel bathe his head and face! It's so sweet to watch.

Happy Birthday, Angel Carmine

 Today would have been Carmine's 21st birthday. 

This may not be a great photo of him, but I chose it because this was Carmine's signature pose. From the time he was a baby, he would lay in beds (or cubes) with his leg over the side like this. He loved this little box bed I made him out of an old Chewy box and napped in it nearly every single day we had it.

I miss my Tiny Lion more than I can express with words, but I like thinking about all the great times we had in our nearly 18 years together. I was beyond blessed that he chose me as his human, and I look forward to the day we meet again on the other side. Until then, I know he is watching over me and in my heart always. 

I am working on strengthening my animal communication skills before I reach out to him telepathically. I want the best chance of being able to hear what he has to say. I know that he is around; I see and sense him. 

I hope he is having the most wonderful birthday celebration at the Rainbow Bridge with Jewel, Lita, Tylan, and all of our other furry friends who are there. I'll eat some ice cream for him today as it was one of his very favorite foods while he was here with me.

Thankful Thursday

 Hi everybody! It's me, Tylan, today. We are joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop because we have a lot to be thankful for this week!

First, today is our Mom lady's birthday! She is elebendy billion years old today. We love her SO much. We are thankful she gives us a nice warm home with lots of comfy beds and blankies to sleep on, toys to play with, and plenty of food to fill our bellies. We appreciate how our Mom lady pays attention to what we like and makes every effort to make sure we are happy, healthy, and comfortable. We can feel her love for us everyday, and we know we are lucky boys to have found her (though she says SHE'S the lucky one because she has us!).

The Mom lady got an early birthday present of sorts on Monday. I will let her tell you about it.

Mom lady here: Giovanni's pathology report came on Monday (much sooner than I had anticipated!). It showed that his mast cell tumor was, in fact, cancerous. HOWEVER, they graded it as a low-risk/low-grade tumor, so the chance that it metastisized anywhere else is very small. Our vet got clean margins on his tumor by amputating his toe, so there is no need for further surgery or chemotherapy or anything.

I am so incredibly thankful that the vet tech caught the tumor when she was clipping Giovanni's nails. Had it continued to grow, who knows if we would have had the same outcome. I am also thankful for our vet's hard work and care for my boys. I can tell she truly cares about my babies and wants the best for them.

Giovanni will be prone to developing more mast cell tumors for the rest of his life, unfortunately. But we are all going to check him regularly for lumps and bumps so we can catch any problems before they get too serious (we hope!). 

As you can see, Giovanni is still grumpy about his bandage. One more week to go until he has his sutures removed and doesn't have to wear it or his donut collar anymore. All things considered, he's being a good little fuzzy patient. 

I am also thankful to all of you - everyone who sent purrs and prayers and healing energy to Giovanni. Thank you!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Giovanni!

 

Hi everybody, it's me, Giovanni, and March 29th be my birthday! Me is two years old today!

Mama said hers gotted me a couple of fun prezzies, but hers said me can't have them for a couple of weeks! My prezzies, hers says, will make me want to run around and play, and de vet doesn't want me running around or playing too hard while me recovers from my tumor removal surgery. 

Soooo......Mama felt so bad that hers gotted me another prezzie! Hers says this prezzie won't have me moving around. But it won't be here until Monday. Me wonders what it be?!

In de meantime, Mama bought me some vanilla ice cream at de store for me to enjoy. Me loves me some ice cream! 

The Mom here: I cannot believe my sweet baby boy is two years old already! It seems like just yesterday that I was bringing him home as a 10-week-old kitten, so small that he fit in one hand. He's grown up to be such a handsome, loving, and sweet boy who loves to run and play, be up high, and look out the window. 

I can't wait to see all the great things this year has in store for Giovanni and what new memories we'll create together!

Thankful Thursday

 We are joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop today because we have a special reason to be thankful today.

Some of you might know that Dad Terry from Brian's Home - Forever is my best friend. That's right, he is a saint and puts up with my babbling away at him every single day! 

A lot of you who know Terry know that he has 9 kitties and a wonderful wife named Celesta. Today is Celesta's birthday, and we are thankful for HER today!

I don't know Celesta as well as Terry, but here are few things I DO know about her:

• Celesta's favorite color is purple (I love purple, too!).
• She is a good cook. Terry is always making me jealous by telling me what he's having for dinner. I wish I could go and taste some of Celesta's delicious cooking myself!
• Celesta loves kitties as much as I do.
• She loves Christmas movies, and she reads a lot of books. 
• Celesta is thoughtful, kind, and sweet! 

I have even gotten to talk to Celesta a few times before, which was really cool! 

The boys and I hope you have a most wonderful birthday today, Celesta! We are thankful for you and your friendship, and we love you!

Happy 6th Gotcha Day, Tylan!

Today is Tylan's 6th Gotcha Day! Since we have absolutely no idea when Tylan's birthday is, today is also the day we celebrate his birthday. He might be 9 years old. We really can't pinpoint an accurate age with him as his teeth were in such bad shape when they rescued him. 

In any case, Giovanni and I are THRILLED that Tylan chose me as his human and Carmine as his new brother back in 2018!

A Double Thankful Thursday

 Hi everyone! It's mes, Giovanni!

Last Friday (March 29) was my first birthday! 

Mes had a great birthday celebration. Mama gotted mes this new bird. Hers saw the one our friends at Brian's Home - Forever had, and hers thought mes would like it, and guess what? Mes did!

When you poke de bird, it chirps and flaps its wings! Mes has a good time with it. Tylan doesn't play with it, but for some reason, hims likes to come over and watch it when me plays with it. MOL.

 Today is the Mom's birthday, and she is a billion years old.

Happy 1st Birthday, Giovanni!

 Hi everybody! It's mes, Giovanni! Do you know what today be? It be MY FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! That's right, a year ago today, me and my brother and sisters came into de world. Me weighed a whole 4.1 ounces! Mama says hers can't even imagine how tiny me was then.

Mama came to meet me when mes was about 9.5 weeks old. Hers learned at dat visit that mes like to climb! Mes kept trying to climb over the barrier in my room when hers came to visit. After mes watched hers to play with my siblings for a little bit, mes went over and hopped up on the stool right by hers and mes stayed close to hers the rest of the time hers was there. Mes even took a little nap by her. Mama really hoped mes was her kitten, but mes already knew hers was my human.

A couple of days later, mes gotted to go home with Mama! Here is a photo of mes on my Gotcha Day with Mama's friend, Steve. Wasn't me tiny?! Mes only weighed 2.4 pounds then, and Mama could hold me in one hand. Hers couldn't get over how tiny me was. Hers would say that Tylan looked like a giant when we sat side by side. MOL.

Since mes came home when me was only 10 weeks old, Mama has gotten to watch me grow to be a big boy and has learned lots about me.

One of the first things hers learned about me is that me loves me a bagel! Yep, bagels. Not even for the cream cheese. Me loves to try and eat Mama's plain bagel if hers looks away for two seconds. Since then, Mama has also learned that me loves oatmeal, waffle batter, cereal, and blueberry muffins! Breakfast is mines favoritest meal of de day. 

Happy 19th Birthday to Carmine at the Rainbow Bridge

 Today would have been Carmine's 19th birthday. 

I'm not going to write a lot about it because it simply makes me so very sad to think about how Carmine's not here anymore in his fuzzy orange pajamas. 

BUT I wanted to honor Carmine on his special day. So, I thought I'd do a little giveaway. Carmine would like that. He was a very giving and caring mancat.
