I selected Purina Pro Plan Dental Crunch Cat Snacks with Natural Chicken & Liver Flavors Cat Treats this month for Carmine and Milita to try because they really love the other Pro Plan treats they've tried, and I had no idea Pro Plan makes dental treats.

I would love to see real meat added to these treats, but I figured a treat that can help my kitties' teeth is worth trying.  So what did Carmine and Milita think about the treats?

Carmine comes running from wherever he is anytime he hears a Pro Plan treat bag rattle, so it wasn't hard to get his attention!  Carmine really loves these treats!  And do you know what the best thing is?  He actually chews them!  Carmine has a habit of not chewing his kibble or treats.  Instead, he usually just swallows them whole.  A lot of treats are small, which is great for cats, but it also allows them to swallow the treats whole if they choose to, like Carmine does.  The Pro Plan dental treats are too big for Carmine to swallow them whole, so he chews them up every time.  Finally, a dental treat that will actually help his teeth because he chews it up!

It's hardly any surprise that Carmine liked the treats - he is very picky about his food, but he loves just about any kind of treat.  The real test is whether the treat critic in the house - Milita - liked them.

Milita also likes the treats!  She's not quite as enthusiastic about them as Carmine is, but she definitely gave these treats her paw of approval!  

I will definitely be purchasing more of these dental treats when our current bag is gone.

Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Cat Chews Review

We know Mondays are usually the day we give an update about ourselves.  Lita had to go to the vet on Friday for a possible UTI, but they won't have her blood and urine test results back until today or tomorrow, so we will give you an update later this week.

Today we want to tell you about the Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Cat Chews we had the opportunity to try in December as part of the Chewy.com Blogger Outreach Program.

As you may know, there are many situations that can stress out cats.  Among them are veterinary visits, changes in routine, being boarded, visits to the groomer, having company over, parties, home renovation, fireworks, thunderstorms, and moving.  The Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Cat Chews provide a way for you to relieve your cat's anxiety in a chicken liver flavored treat.

I liked the cute little fish shape the treats come in.  But how did Carmine and Milita like them?

Carmine and Milita seem to agree that the treats taste good.  They both licked the treats a lot.  However, they seemed to have a little trouble eating them.  I noticed the treats are harder in texture than the treats they normally eat, so this may have been the problem.

Nevertheless, they both do occasionally manage to eat them.  I haven't tried them out before a vet visit, but I plan to in the future.

This month, Chewy had a great selection of products available for review for us to choose from.  Because Carmine and Milita absolutely love Pro Plan Savory Bites, I thought they might enjoy Pro Plan True Nature Protein Crunch with Real Lamb Cat Treats.

I was right!  Carmine loves the Pro Plan True Nature Protein Crunch treats!  Every time the bag rattles, he comes trotting over for a treat.  He always knows when I've picked up the bag, and he'll even wake from a nap in another room to come get one of these tasty morsels.

But the real question is....did Milita like these treats?

YES!!!  Milita also loves these treats!  She is incredibly picky when it comes to treats, so it always makes me very happy when Carmine and Milita like the same treat!

Purr*Packs Cat Subscription Box Review

When Purr*Packs contacted us and asked if we'd like to review one of their boxes, we were thrilled!  What kitty wouldn't love a box of treats and toys just for them?

When I received the Purr*Packs box in the mail, I thought it was absolutely adorable!  I love the kitty on the box and that it came addressed to my babies.

Carmine: Okay, okay, mom.  We get it.  You think the box is cute.  We want to know what's inside the box.  Open it for us!

  Carmine and Milita tried these treats.  Carmine enjoyed them, but the real test was whether Milita would like them or not.  And she does!  A Milita-approved treat is pretty rare, so I was really glad to see that both of the kitties enjoy these.

• An Assortment of Small Cat Toys: A small, fuzzy catnip mouse, two kitty discs, and a springy door-hanging toy also came in our box.  Milita loves small catnip mice, and she was excited to find one in the Purr*Packs box.  
• Cardboard Scratcher: A horizontal cardboard scratcher also came in our box.  I haven't opened it up yet because Carmine has a few scratchers he's using around here right now.  However, when one of them wears out, I know he will absolutely love the new one we received!  The scratcher is stylish with kitty heads on two of the sides as well.  I think it's really cute.

We received the Fun & Love Pack to review, and as you can see, there were quite a few great kitty items in there!  We give Purr*Packs two thumbs and eight paws up!

Last month, we received a package of Canidae Grain-Free PURE Taste with Fresh Chicken Cat Treats from Chewy to review.

Carmine: *Sniff sniff* *Lick lick*

I'm happy to report that Carmine loves these treats!  He didn't hesitate at all to gobble up the first treat I gave him, and he begged for more.  

Milita, on the other hand, wasn't impressed.  When I gave her a treat, she sniffed it and turned her nose up.  I'm not very surprised by her reaction, though.  Milita is incredibly picky about her treats.

Carmine: If hers doesn't want hers treats, can mes has them?

Carmine's 10th Birthday Giveaway!

The Mom is sick so this post isn't as fancy as we'd like, but mes is glad hers helped mes with my special post!

As you can tell, in this book Amy Shojai shares valuable information on how to care for your aging cat.  The book is divided into two section.  In the first section, Shojai discusses how cats age.  Topics in this section include how a cat's body ages, her nutritional and exercise needs as she ages, and end-of-life decisions.  

In the second section, Shojai looks at specific diseases common in aging cats in detail.  Some of the illnesses highlighted in the book include arthritis, cancer, blindness, heart disease, hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus, kidney failure, and senility.  I really like that Shojai discusses alternative therapies as well as conventional treatment options for treating diseases.

In my opinion, this is a fantastic resource for aging cats, and I plan to refer to it often over the years as Carmine and Milita age.

Purina Pro Plan Savory Bites with Real Chicken Cat Treats Review

We received a bag of Purina Pro Plan Savory Bites with Real Chicken last week from Chewy, and we wanted to let you know what we thought of it today.  

Pro Plan Savory Bites with Real Chicken appeals to your cat's senses through their texture, taste, and smell.  The treats are made with real chicken and contain accents of tomatoes, peas, and carrots.  Savory Bites are nutritionally balanced for adult cats and contain no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.  Pro Plan Savory Bites are also available in tuna and salmon flavors.  

Carmine: Can you open them now, Mom, so we can try them?

Carmine: Sniff sniff.  Lick lick.  Chomp chomp!

Carmine is definitely a fan of these treats!  He kept looking for more.

The real test, though, is if Milita likes them.  She is very picky about what treats she chooses to eat.

I gave Milita a treat.  She sniffed it.  She poked it with her paw a little.  Then she licked it.  And finally, she gobbled it up!  

I gave her a couple more treats, which she happily gobbled.  She couldn't get enough of the Savory Bites!  Every time she was out of treats, she kept looking for more.  I was pleasantly surprised that she loved these treats so much.
