I swear this Yeowww! fish used to be yellow! A nice, vibrant yellow.

I don't remember the occasion or where I got this fish, but it was the first Yeowww! toy I ever got for Carmine and Lita.

Little did I know how big of a hit Yeowww! would be. They were quite young at the time, and I'd never heard of the brand before.

I gave them the fish and quickly realized my mistake. I only bought one fish! Carmine had the first go at it, and Lita looked quite annoyed and upset because Carmine was playing with her fish.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Last week, the Mom went out with hers friend, S, and her daughter, E.  The Mom was really looking forward to finally meeting E in person since she does not live heres locally.  

Theys came upstairs when they gotted here to visit mes and Litas, but mes hidded under the bed!  Litas was braver and stayed out and let thems pet hers while the Mom held hers.  

The Mom's friend, D, stayed heres while the Mom wented out to the cat cafe with hers friends, so hims could keep an eye on Lita for hers.  Hims told the Mom that as soon as theys lefted, mes came out from under the bed and found the new toy S and E gotted mes and Lita!

Carmine's Birthday Yeowww! Giveaway

When Purr*Packs contacted us and asked if we'd like to review one of their boxes, we were thrilled!  What kitty wouldn't love a box of treats and toys just for them?

When I received the Purr*Packs box in the mail, I thought it was absolutely adorable!  I love the kitty on the box and that it came addressed to my babies.

Carmine: Okay, okay, mom.  We get it.  You think the box is cute.  We want to know what's inside the box.  Open it for us!

Okay, Carmine, but first I want to tell everyone what Purr*Packs is.  Purr*Packs is a monthly subscription box for cats.  Purr*Packs come in three sizes.  The Teaser Pack ($24.99) includes 5-7 items, the Fun & Love Pack ($29.99) includes 7-9 items, and the Multi-Cat Mega-Pack ($39.99) contains 9 or more cat items.  The Fun & Love and Multi-Cat Mega-Packs are customizable; you can specify color preferences, dietary restrictions, and more.  Purr*Packs also helps homeless animals by donating at least 10% of their profits to local and national rescue groups or shelters.

What Came in Our Purr*Packs?

Our Purr*Packs box was filled with a lot of great cat toys and treats.

• Kitty Kaviar: Kitty Kaviar is an all-natural fish treat for cats that can be used as a reward for good behavior, a treat, or topped on food for picky eaters.
• Hedgehog Toy: We also received an adorable, soft hedgehog toy made by Favorite Pet Products.  
• Zuke's Natural Purrz Cat Treats in Salmon: These treats are made in the USA and contain no wheat, corn, or soy.  Salmon is the first ingredient, and the treats have omega-rich fish oil and real cranberries, which are good for urinary tract health.

• Yeowww! Catnip Cigar: Carmine and Milita absolutely love Yeowww catnip toys, and they were thrilled to find that their box contained a catnip cigar.  Yeowww toys are made in the US and are stuffed with organically-grown catnip.  
• Buddy Biscuits Grain-Free Tender Chicken Cat Treats: Buddy Biscuits Grain-Free treats are gluten-free and contain no soy, wheat, or corn.  They are made with premium meats and vegetables and are low in fat as well.
  
  Carmine and Milita tried these treats.  Carmine enjoyed them, but the real test was whether Milita would like them or not.  And she does!  A Milita-approved treat is pretty rare, so I was really glad to see that both of the kitties enjoy these.

• An Assortment of Small Cat Toys: A small, fuzzy catnip mouse, two kitty discs, and a springy door-hanging toy also came in our box.  Milita loves small catnip mice, and she was excited to find one in the Purr*Packs box.  
• Cardboard Scratcher: A horizontal cardboard scratcher also came in our box.  I haven't opened it up yet because Carmine has a few scratchers he's using around here right now.  However, when one of them wears out, I know he will absolutely love the new one we received!  The scratcher is stylish with kitty heads on two of the sides as well.  I think it's really cute.

We received the Fun & Love Pack to review, and as you can see, there were quite a few great kitty items in there!  We give Purr*Packs two thumbs and eight paws up!

Jewel's Journey

Have I ever told you about the first time I discovered Jewel loved catnip?  It's a really cute story.

Shortly after I became friends with Jewel's former owner, I went to visit them at their home.  I set my purse down on the couch, forgetting that I had bought a Yeowww! catnip banana earlier that day and had put it in my purse to give to Carmine and Milita later.

A little while, later I went to get something out of my purse and found Jewel with her head stuck in it!  I wondered what on earth she was doing in there.  Then I remembered that I had a Yeowww! banana stowed away in my purse.  Her former owner had told me he didn't know if she liked catnip or not.  Turns out, she did!

Over the years, I bought her several Yeowww! toys and loose catnip to enjoy.  I bought her the fish in the photo above for her 16th birthday.

Carmine and Milita are also big fans of catnip.

February PetBox Review and Discount Code

We received our very first PetBox in the mail last weekend, and we were so excited to see what was in it!  In fact, Carmine was so excited that he didn't even wait for me to get the items out for him!

What We Received and How We Liked It

Carmine was immediately drawn to the Yeowww! heart.  He loves the strong smell of catnip that Yeowww! toys are known for. 

While Carmine busied himself with the new Yeowww! toy, I showed Milita the Petlinks Carpet Claws Hanging Scratcher with Catnip Feather Ball Toy and the package of Priscilla's 100% Natural catnip we received.  Milita immediately demanded I open it for her.  

Apparently I didn't meet her demands fast enough, so she decided to poke a few little holes in the bag.  I gave a little to both kitties, and Milita and Carmine were very pleased!

Here's a full list of what we received in our first PetBox:

• Yeowww! Heart Catnip Toy: Carmine and Milita absolutely *love* Yeowww! so they were very pleased to find a catnip heart in their PetBox.
• Priscilla's 100% Natural Catnip: Both kitties are really enjoying this.  It has a nice, strong smell that appeals to cats. 
• Wobble Nip Catnip Diffuser Toy: The kitties aren't sure what to think about this toy yet.  I tried to show them how to give it a whap, but I think they need Jewel to come back from the Rainbow Bridge to teach them.  She was always so great at figuring out new toys.
• Petlinks Carpet Claws Hanging Scratcher with Catnip Feather Ball Toy: I hung the scratcher from my pantry closet door for the kitties, and they've both tested it out.  I think it will get a lot of use!
• A Sample of Royal Canin Indoor Adult 27 Dry Food: We know that Royal Canin is a good brand as Carmine and Milita eat Carmine's Royal Canin prescription kibbles.  Due to the fact that both kitties eat the prescription kibbles here, I plan to donate our sample to a local cat shelter.  I'm sure the shelter kitties will be quite pleased.
• Wellness Kittles Tuna and Cranberry Recipe Crunchy Cat Treats: Milita hasn't tried these yet, but I hear good things about them.  I'm looking forward to seeing what she thinks about the treats (Carmine can't eat anything fish flavored). I like that each treat contains fewer than two calories. 

I think Carmine enjoyed the box at least as much as he did the contents that came in it!

Jewel's Journey

Since we recently had a Yeowww-Tide Candy Cane Giveaway, I thought you might enjoy these memories of Jewel today.

Every kitty here loves Yeowww, and Jewel was no exception!  A couple of our local friends got us a pack of three Yeowww balls for the kitties.  Jewel was the first on the scene when I got them out!  She happily claimed this yellow one.

Jewel and Milita usually tolerated each other - they are both more independent and bond with humans more than with other kitties (Carmine loves other kitties as well as his people).  Jewel and Milita typically stayed out of each other's way, but when Jewel would pass under the couch where Milita likes to lay, Lita sometimes gave her a few smacky paws.

Apparently catnip makes everything okay, though!  Here they are laying right by each other without a care in the world. :)
