Tylan: You don't mind if I hop in there and snuggle with you, do you?

Carmine: Tylan, this bed is really made for one kit-

Umm...okay, I guess you're hopping in anyway.

Tylan: Isn't this great?

Carmine: It's too bad social distancing doesn't apply to cats....

Mancat Monday with Lewis and Clark

Hi everyone!

It's a special Mancat Monday. Do you remember our friends Lewis and Clark? They have been with their new people now for 10 weeks, so we decided it was a good time for an update.

Isn't Lewis cute? Lewis has always been the more outgoing of the pair. He likes to hang out on the cat tree in his new home. He and Clark like to sit and watch their people make their breakfast in the morning. 

Lewis and Clark have been venturing upstairs often lately, and they like to take turns hanging out in the laundry basket. 

Doug has been able to pet Lewis a bit! Isn't that cool?

Clark (below) has always been the shier and more fearful of the two boys. It took a few weeks before he ventured out at all. Now he stays out for a bit sometimes and goes upstairs with Lewis. 

He will usually let Denise get close enough to him to get a photo if she's quiet about it. 

I heard the most amazing news the other day. Doug was able to touch Clark!! For Clark, this is tremendous progress! He ran off after he was touched, but he did let Doug touch him, and that's really amazing.

The boys' foster mom had them for about six months, and she said that the boys were still running from her. I don't think she ever even got to pet them. So for being in their home only 10 weeks, both boys are making incredible progress in learning to trust their new people. 

I don't think these two could have asked for a better home. Even Max (the dog) gives the boys their space and doesn't bother them. 

I talk to their human, Denise, nearly everyday and get updates on them. I always love hearing about how well the boys are doing! I will keep you all posted on their progress.

Hi everyone, it's me, Tylan!

It has been more than three weeks since my tummy surgery and first stem cell therapy treatment. 

I have not been acting at all like my usual self. The Mom lady is quite worried about me. I am hardly eating any noms. In fact, I usually try to bury the noms and/or walk away when she puts me by them. Sometimes I will eat a few bites if she puts a little kibble on it. 

The Mom lady just had a talk with another animal-loving friend, and they think maybe my mouth is still hurting me. So the Mom lady gave me a dose of pain medication to see if that helps me. She says I am acting like I used to when my mouth hurt - not eating much at all, not playing, and not being very social. 

Mancat Monday with Tylan

Hi everyone, it's me, Tylan.

The last several days have been rather tiring for me and the Mom lady. 

She took me to the vet place on Wednesday. I complained the whole way that I was hungry! She claims she could not feed me that morning because I had to have a nap at the vet (surgery). I think she was just being mean! 

They made me take a nap. When I woke up, my tummy hurt! I noticed it also felt funny. It has all these things called stitches in it. The vet people offered me some noms, but I did not want them. 

The Mom lady came and picked me up and took me home. I spent the rest of the day hiding and sleeping. Every time the Mom lady offered me food, I said NO! 

The next day was more of the same. Me hiding and sleeping and staring into space when I was awake. Every time the Mom lady offered food, I said NO! 

The Mom lady was getting a bit worried. She said she'd never had another cat who was out of it so long after anesthesia. 

Finally at 2am on Friday, I decided to eat a bit. Then the Mom lady said, "Oh no! You're not supposed to be eating now. You have to take another nap at the vet today!" But she told the vet I had a bit of noms, and she said it would be okay. 

The Mom lady picked me up to put me in the carrier, and I looked up at her with my sad blue eyes and made her feel very guilty for taking me back. 

When my special cells came by FedEx, they had me take another nap. I woke up feeling a lot better than on Wednesday!! I gobbled up some noms at the vet while I waited for the Mom lady to come get me. 

Then when we got home, I headed for Carmine's leftovers right away and gobbled those up. Then I headed for the kibble and gobbled that! I even jumped up on the Mom lady's bed on Friday night for a bit.

I still don't feel quite myself. I don't want many tummy rubs, but when I ask for them, the Mom lady won't give them to me because she doesn't want to hurt my tummy. I am not playing yet, and I don't feel much like annoying, I mean trying to play with, Carmine yet. But I am back to eating regularly, and I am talking to the Mom lady a bit more again. 

The Mom lady doesn't know when Dr. S would like to see me again since Dr. L was there on Friday, so she will talk to him on Wednesday when he is back in the office to see when they want me to come get more tummy rubs. 

I am going to put a photo of my surgery incision under the "Read more" cut. Me and the Mom lady don't want to gross anyone out. This is a photo of it on Wednesday. It is no longer pink and looks a ton better! I finished my pain medication on Saturday morning and the Mom lady says I seem more comfortable now.

Hi everyone, it's me, Tylan!

I went to the vet last week to get my monthly steroid shot. The vet tech lady decided to take me out of my carrier and take me in the back. She gave me a hug and said I was going to make her whole week! 

When I came back, she told the Mom lady that I was getting bigger - I weigh over 10 pounds now! The Mom lady says if I'm not careful, I'll be bigger than Carmine soon, MOL! She says I need some extra fat on me for my stem cell surgery.

See, the first part of my treatment is getting fat from my tummy. The Mom lady says they have to collect two or maybe three vials of fat from me to get the stem cells. 

The Mom lady helped me put up a fundraiser to raise our portion of the green papers needed for my treatment. You can read my whole story over there! If you have any questions, the Mom lady is more than happy to answer them for you.

Hi everyone, it's Tylan.

We apologize we have not been around much at all lately. The Mom lady has been trying to make that green stuff - we are sure your humans can relate! 

Those of us who follow us on Facebook will not be surprised to hear some of this news. I have something called "stomatitis." It makes my mouth very, very painful. I love to eat, but when my mouth hurts so bad, I don't eat much or anything at all. 

Before the Mom lady took me home, all but my two bottom canines were pulled. It improved my health some. Before they pulled my teeth, I didn't even want anyone to PET me. I love tummy rubs so the Mom lady says she cannot even imagine how much pain I must have been in. 

Unfortunately, pulling most of my teeth did not cure me. 

I have really bad ulcers in my throat. They are very, very painful some days. On my bad pain days, I get some medicine. The Mom lady used to give it to me in my mouth, and I hated that because it hurt! So she talked to the vet, and they switched me over to something she can give me in an injection now, and I actually like that a lot better!!

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Yous know what mes has been doing lately?  When the Mom goes to read hers book before sleeps, mes curls up on the pillow on hers lap!  The Mom says hers really likes it when mes does that!  Mes is still sleeping a lot on the Mom's pillow when hers goes to sleeps, too.  

Mes likes to keep the Mom company.  Do yous hog sleeps on your human's pillow when theys sleeps, too?

Last week, when the Mom was vacuuming, mes decided to hide in here.  Mes was safe from the vacuum monster in heres.

Litas told mes that mes is going to the vet tomorrow to has my "butt squeezed."  Mes thinks hers is trying to scare mes.  

But just in cse hers isn't......do yous think the Mom will think to look for mes in here if mes hides here again?

Hi everyone, it's the Mom today.

Last week, I went to visit my friend S and his kitty, Figgy.  Figgy is about 20 months old.  He is a handsome orange mancat.  I love visiting with him.  He loves to talk and play - sometimes he'll play fetch with me for an hour!  He has so much energy.

Anyway, S had seen Carmine's hammock, and I thought Figgy might like one, so I sent his dad the link in case he wanted to get one for Figgy.  He decided it was a good idea and ordered one!

So when I was over there last week, we got it out so I could set it up for Figs (my nickname for him).  It is made a little differently than Carmine's, and the instructions were not very helpful!  I played around with it for a while and tried all kinds of configurations trying to figure it out.  Oh the joys of being blind as a bat, haha!

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

It has been nearly 80 degrees here the past couple of days.  The Mom wonders why mes likes curling up in my warm bed when it is that hot.  Wes does not has our window air conditioner put in yets, 'cause the Mom has to get some kind of special brackets for it.  So it be hot in heres during the day.  

What can mes say?  Mes likes it warm!

Mancat Monday: T - 5 Days

Um....Excuse mes?  How is mes supposed to hide in my cube when it's in a pile of boxes???

Yes, the Mom uses boxes from the liquor store down the street to put things in.  

Hers says mes still has one cube on the floor and my heated beds and my condo on the cat tree and hers bed to lay on, but what if me wants to hide in this green cube??  

The Mom finishes packing up all the books last night, and yous knows what hers said?  Hers said, "I only have three and a half boxes of cat books."  MOL!!  

Hers still has a few things to pack up in the main room and the whole kitchen and bathroom to pack up still.  Wes will start moving on Friday (the Mom thinks and is going to confirm later today).

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Things is getting a little chaotic around heres.  The other day, the Mom went to get some boxes, and hers put thems in the way of my pink cube.  That's where mes talks to Jewel.  Mes couldn't talk to Jewel for a whole night!  The Mom saw that mes wanted my pink cube, so hers moved the boxes out of the way for mes.  

Mes has been laying in the boxes.  If mes lays in thems, then the Mom can't fill thems up, and wes won't has to go anywheres!

The Mom tells mes it will be nice to has more space.  Mes loves to lay near Litas, as yous can see in the photo.  Do yous think LItas will let mes lay by hers when there is two rooms or do yous think hers will tell mes to go in the other room?

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Last Wednesday, the apartment management peoples did apartment inspections on the whole building.  While theys was heres, mes heard something awful.  The apartment manager lady told the Mom that a one-bedroom apartment is becoming available soon, and hers told the Mom to start packing 'cause wes is next in line for a one-bedroom!  If yous didn't know, wes currently live in a very tiny studio - our main living space is a 10 x 12 room!

Mes wented and hid under the bed when the management peoples were here, so mes thought maybe mes heard wrong.

But then, the Mom was yapping about how hers needs to get some boxes to pack things in to move!!  Hers had brought my Chewy box in with my our monthly shipment of noms in it.

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Last week, mes saw a new vet.  The Mom has been taking Litas to our very first vet wes ever had.  Dr. L has been seeing Litas, but mes saw Dr. S, the other vet who works in the clinic.  The Mom had never seen hims before, so hers was even a little nervous.

The Mom covered mes up with a hoodie when mes was on the table.  Dr. S left mes in the hoodie while hims examined mes.  Hims said that my coat looks nice and hims thinks my nose freckles are cute!  

Hims felted my tummy and said my intestines and kidneyys feel good.  Hims listened to my heart, and hims letted the Mom listen to my heart, too!  The Mom had never heard my heart through that funny thing theys use to listen, so hers was really thrilled about that.  Heers said my heart bets really fast - faster than hers, and hers beats very fast!  By the way, the Mom is going to the heart doctor today.  If yous want to send hers a few good thoughts, mes ams sure hers would appreciate it.  Theys has been trying to lower the Mom's heart rate for a long time (about a year) nows and can't seem to find a combo of meds that will slow it down and raise hers blood pressure.  That's right, hers blood pressure needs to be raised.

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Many of yous knows that Litas is sick.  When the Mom weighed hers last week, the Mom discovered that Litas losted more weight.  So the Mom has been giving Litas that cyproheptadine stuffs more often this past week to get hers to eat mores.  Mes has had that stuffs before - it sure makes yous want to nom!

Yous know what mes likes to do these days?  The Mom usually leaves Lita's foods by hers on the bed for a whiles 'cause Litas likes to eat a little bit, sleep a bit, then come back and eat some mores.  

Well, sometimes mes comes on the bed and sits right in front of Litas and starts eating hers noms.  Yes, mes has my own noms, but mes is trying to be helpful.

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine, today!

Last week, the Mom was getting ready to go out and do some errands, and hers made a phone call while hers was getting ready.  

Mes heard hers talking to the VET!  Mes ws sitting happily in D's lap, but as soon as mes heard the Mom talking to the vet, mes dove under the bed!

The Mom keeps telling mes the appointment is for LITAS, but mes does not believe hers.  Mes thinks it be best to hide under the bed later until hers leaves....what do yous think?

The Mom here: It really is Lita who's going to the vet later today.  Poor Carmine doesn't believe me, though. 

Lita will be getting another antibiotic injection.  I am not sure what we will do from this point.  This is supposed to be her last injection.  They do seem to help for several days - her coughing dramatically decrease - but then 10-14 days after the injection, she starts coughing more again.  I will keep you posted.

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Wes is sorry wes has not been posting or visiting much lately.  The Mom has been preoccupied with Litas lately.  As many of yous knows, Litas has not been doing well for some time nows.  

Hers is going to the vet today.  The Mom and mes is quite worried about hers.  The Mom says hers has lost a lot of weight, and hers is almost as light as mes now.  Hers was not eating well theres for a little whiles.  Hers is eating more nows, but the Mom would still like it if hers ated more so hers could regain some of the losted weight.

Litas has still been coughing a lot.  It makes the Mom sad, and mes doesn't like to see the Mom sad or Litas not doing well.  

Mes is trying to be a good brother.  Mes bugs the Mom a lots for noms so mes and Litas gets lots of meals and snacks.  Mes also lays by Litas a lot to try and comfort hers.  Hers doesn't always like that, though.  

Mancat Monday with Another Lita Update

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!  

Did yous all forget about mes?  Litas has been hogging my our blog lately!  

Lita is still fighting hers battle with pneumonia.  Hers has been more lively the past few days.  Last week, hers just laid in one spot alllll day, but now hers is wandering around here and there, and hers is not hiding anymores!

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

Mes has been doing something new lately.  Mes likes to sleep on the Mom's pillow!  Mes used to sleep by hers pillow a lot when hers went to sleeps, but now mes will crawl on the pillow by hers head sometimes when hers is sleeping.  Hers says hers likes to wake up and find mes there.  Sometimes mes sleeps on hers pillow during the day, too.  

The Mom says hers wishes hers could just stay in bed and sleep by mes tomorrows instead of going to the yucky dentist!  Mes feels bad for hers 'cause hers shakes at the dentist like mes does at the vet.  So if you could send hers a few purrs, maybe that would help hers feel less scared.

Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

As many of yous know, Lita's leg has been hurting hers a lot lately.  But mes, being the helpful brother mes is, mes sits ON hers to make hers leg feel better.  Mes used to do the same thing when the Mom had the same injury as Lita back in 2010.  Theys made the Mom wait five months to has surgery on hers foot, so mes would sit on the Mom's hurt and borken foot and purr.  The Mom said it hurt a lot for mes to sit on hers foot, but hers let mes stay there most of the time anyways because hers knows that kitty purrs can help heal bones.
